New phase, new place

The first month at this new place cannot really be categorized into anything. There was nothing to be elated about, nor to complain about either. The few good friends I got have helped me settle down and the little network they built has helped me frame myself too.

On initial look, the new job wasnt everything that I thought it would be, but slow realization dawns upon that it can be every bit the way I want it to be. I met new people, made a few good acquaintences, moved into a new apartment with a new roommate, doing longer work commutes, which leaves me lesser time to spare during weekdays, all this has added such a new dimension that I am now trying to do things efficiently and value the time when I dont need to work. All in all, I am still not settled into a schedule, like allocating fixed time for eating or sleeping or working out.

Amongst all these, the abyss of missing all the friends that I left behind will take months to fill up. Even though, those fun moments have dried up, there are new ones that are springing up. The void of single friends is still at large. I know 'single' is only a state of mind, but being the guy who says anything and everything, it is quite hard to watch what I say and how I say, owing to the reason that I am amongst people who arent as sharp tongued (wait, make that loose tongued) . I think being married has made my friends a bit sensible and 2 bits boring too. Its all in one's perception and there are always a few exceptions.

The sensible part of the equation is when they act with common sense (which wasnt as common when I knew them last), the resposible behaviour and such. The boring part is, the packed lunches, the next hour planning and even greater respect for time and darkness.

I have been through rougher waters before, so this one isnt gonna raise any strom flags. Happy sailing!

Moving to a new place is never easy. You are lucky to have friends who help you settle down. If you moved into CA, you are going to love it here.

So simbs, where did you move to? Did you watch the Clinton-Wallace showdown? I wish someone in our desh spoke like that with a BBC fellow on the Parliament attack issue. If people are all up in arms because someone who stormed the parliament is being punished then I don't know what to think.
